Job Description: Food and Beverage Manager
The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food and beverage operations within a hotel or hospitality establishment. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage and lead a team to deliver exceptional customer service and ensure the smooth running of all food and beverage outlets.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the overall food and beverage offerings, ensuring customer satisfaction and profitability goals are achieved
- Manage and supervise all food and beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars, banquet facilities, and room service, ensuring efficient and effective operations
- Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and service throughout all outlets
- Collaborate with the executive chef and culinary team to create innovative menus and dishes that meet guest expectations and align with the hotel's brand standards
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of high-quality ingredients and materials at competitive prices
- Conduct regular evaluations of food and beverage staff performance, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance skills and knowledge
- Manage inventory levels, control costs, and ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines
- Oversee the planning and execution of special events, conferences, and banquets, ensuring seamless coordination with other departments and adherence to client requirements
- Develop and implement health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with local regulations and industry standards
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market competition, and customer preferences, and make recommendations for improvements and new initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in food and beverage management within the hotel or hospitality industry
- In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including restaurant management, bar service, banquet operations, and room service
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse workforce
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with team members, suppliers, and customers
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
- Sound financial acumen, with the ability to analyze financial data, control costs, and maximize revenue opportunities
- Proficiency in computer systems, including point of sale (POS) software and inventory management systems
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, food handling procedures, and sanitation standards
